Refugee's Rights

After the growing numbers of stranded refugees around the world, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights conducted a refugee convention along with a list of Refugee rights, that every country has to consider.

Refugee Convention:
The UN Refugee Convention conducted in 1951affirms that any refugee can not
be sent back to a country where they would be at risk of persecution. The Refugee
Convention defines a refugee as someone who is outside their country of origin because
of a well-founded fear of persecution for one of the following reasons:
● race
● religion
● nationality
● membership of a particular social group
● political opinion.

The Refugee Rights states that Refugees must have ...
● Protection from being forcibly returned to a country where they would be at risk of persecutions
● Protection from discrimination
● Protection from penalties for illegal entries
● The right to work, housing and education
● The right to freedom of movement
● The right to identity and travel documents

This short clip provides an example of what a refugee goes through in a foreign land.

This Video portrays the lives of three different refugees and their journeys
